4 October – World Animal Day
World Animal Day 2020. World Animal Day is a day of action recognised worldwide for animal rights as well as welfare. It is celebrated on 4 October, Francis of Assisi feast day, the animals‘ patron saint. The mission of this day is raising the status of animals to improve welfare standards worldwide.

5 October – Ganga River Dolphin Day

The United Nations has designated the first Monday of October of every year as World Habitat Day. This year in 2020 it falls on 7 October

2- 8 October – Wildlife Week
Wildlife Week is celebrated every year in India between October 1 and 8. The annual theme of the campaign is to promote the preservation of fauna – i.e. animal life.

10 October – International Migratory Bird Day
World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) is an awareness-raising campaign highlighting the need for the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. It aims to draw attention to the threats faced by migratory birds, their ecological importance, and the need for international cooperation to conserve them.
The Day is celebrated bi-annually on the second Saturday in May and in October
